This prestigious status highlights Friends of Castle Meadows’ commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural landscapes for future generations.

Holly Mclellan, the National Forest for Wales Liaison Officer for the South East, praised Castle Meadows for its outstanding application and exemplary woodland management. “I was very impressed by the work you put into your application. The quality of your woodland speaks for itself, and I truly think your Status was earned and well deserved,” said Mclellan.

The National Forest for Wales initiative aims to create a network of woodlands and forests across the country, promoting biodiversity, recreation, and climate resilience. Castle Meadows’ inclusion in this network underscores its role as a vital ecological and recreational asset in the region.
